Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid celebrated his 29th birthday this week. His wife Lauren Kyle shared a detailed visual tribute to her husband on the special occasion with a carousel of pictures she posted Tuesday on Instagram.
One of the opening images showed an intimate black-and-white moment of the couple embracing taken during their Muskoka wedding back in 2024. Another photo captured Kyle and McDavid dressed formally outdoors smiling and holding hands.
Several images came from their wedding day including one that showed McDavid surrounded by groomsmen in tuxedos ahead of the ceremony and another that captured Lauren and Connor sharing their first dance under warm lights inside the venue. A separate shot showed the couple locked in a quiet embrace on the dance floor later in the night.
“Happy birthday to the love of my life 🤍 Every day you amaze me. I hope this year brings you everything you want and more @mcdavid97,” Lauren wrote in the caption of her post.
The carousel also included memories from McDavid’s teammate Leon Draisaitl’s wedding with Lauren and Connor photographed together in elegant evening attire as well as a candid reception moment from their own wedding afterparty where they laughed while sharing dessert.
One image saw the couple sharing a kiss during the special ceremony at Rogers Place celebrating McDavid’s 1,000th NHL point. Lauren also mixed in lighter personal snapshots including a candid photo taken on a plane with their dog Lenny resting on McDavid.
The final images returned to their wedding celebration, one showing the McDavids on a boat after the ceremony while another featured the couple embracing once more on the dance floor closing the carousel.
Connor McDavid’s Wife Launched Team Canada Threads for 2026 Olympics From Her Sports Apparel Brand
Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren Kyle announced earlier last month that she was expanding her Sports Club Atelier brand with a new Canada-themed collection set to launch in January. The idea for the collection came after Hockey Canada contacted her following the Four Nations Face-Off earlier last year.
The collection is priced between $47 and $475 and she shared that it is focused on Canadian heritage and winter sports culture. Lauren said she took inspiration from old winter advertisements and classic alpine fashion turning those ideas into modern cold-weather clothing.
“What does it mean to be Canadian, what does that feel like, and what is the story behind having team pride around Canada? We wanted to think about how to do that in a fashionable way, making pieces that everyone can wear,” Lauren told ELLE Canada.
The lineup includes a high-neck knit zip-up, a knit puffer jacket, a quilted jacket with winter-sports illustrations on the inside, an oversized hockey graphic sweater and an updated version of the brand’s leather jacket. Lauren explained that the goal was to create stylish clothing that fans could wear both to games and in everyday life.
She also said the collection introduced new fabrics and materials that had not been used in previous releases. The launch was timed to match major upcoming events including the World Junior Championship and the 2026 Olympic Games.
