Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce hosted 1,000 of their friends, family, and colleagues at Madison Square Garden in New York for their grand wedding.
While the couple invited all their close ones to the event, they chose to keep it within the family for the bridesmaid and groomsmen choices.
While the Chiefs’ tight end appointed his brother, Jason Kelce, as his best man for one of the most important days of his life, Swift also gave the “Man of honor” title to her only brother, Austin Swift.
Days before the wedding, Austin also accompanied Kelce to a few events, which many reports suggested were a part of his bachelor party.
According to a July 15 report by Rob Shuter on his Naughty But Nice Substack, Austin has been struggling with the spotlight he has received since the wedding.
“Austin is deeply uncomfortable with all of this,” one source told the outlet. “He agreed to be Taylor’s Man of Honor because she’s his sister — not because he wanted to become a celebrity. The attention has been overwhelming.”
On July 14, the Daily Mail reported that Swift asked her brother to be her “Man of Honor.”
“She asked Austin in person, and it turned into a very emotional moment for both of them.” Daily Mail’s source said. “Taylor made sure he knew just how much she appreciates everything he’s done over the years, especially knowing that many people view him as living in her shadow.”
Rob Shutter Calls Out the Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s “Vulgar” Wedding
Rob Shuter spoke on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” a conservative-leaning talk show, on Wednesday and shared his thoughts on the Kelce, Swift wedding.
The host played a clip of Charles Barkley, in while he says he got the invite but wasn’t going to go because he thought it would be too much.
Barkley further revealed that while he loves Kelce, he has only met Swift once, a fact that got picked up by Shuter.
Shuter then called out Swift for treating her wedding like the Grammys and inviting people she had only met once in her life.
“This is not the Grammys. It’s your wedding,” Shuter said. “And on that one day, you couldn’t have a moment for yourself and your groom. It had to be this production, and it had to be this over-the-top extravaganza for people you don’t know. It’s really telling, isn’t it? But even so, this was so vulgar.” It was so over the top.”
Swift reportedly turned Madison Square Garden into a castle-themed fairy tale for the grand wedding.
