Micah Parsons Injury Update: Insider Shares Packers’ Potential Game Plan for 2026

After bowing out of the 2025 NFL campaign with a wild card playoff round loss against the Chicago Bears, the Green Bay Packers would like to better their postseason record come next season. A major factor that will determine how far Matt LaFleur’s side goes in the 2026 season is the availability of top reinforcements combined with a well-rounded squad depth.

However, clouds surrounding the unavailability of a major cog in the Green Bay setup could very well prove to be a hiccup for the Wisconsin-based franchise. As per reports from senior ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Green Bay Packers’ marquee defensive end Micah Parsons has been named as a candidate set to be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list at the front end of the season. Parson’s long-drawn sabbatical from the field comes on the backdrop of a torn ACL sustained last December.

While the exact timeline of Parson’s absence is still not known, he will reportedly be out of action for several weeks in the early stage of the competition.

“The feeling within the organization has been that Parsons would miss the early part of the season and be back early on”, Schefter stated on the ESPN Get Up show.

“He’ll be a candidate to be placed on the physically unable to perform list”, he further elaborated.

While Schefter thinks that Parsons will potentially miss the first three to four games of the upcoming season, he acknowledged the fact that there is still plenty of time for Parsons to recover ahead of the league’s resumption later this year.

Tucker Kraft Set To Return For Packers In Week 1

With the Packers set to miss Parsons’ services in the opening stretch of the season, his teammate Tucker Kraft is bound to be fit for week one of the 2026 season.

After suffering a torn right ACL in November last year, Schefter reports that the tight end could very well feature for the Packers for a whole season after just featuring for his side for a total of eight games last season.

With the timely recovery of both Parsons and Kraft, the Packers could very well go beyond their last season’s 9-7-1 record.
