    Will Josh Downs Play This Week? Latest Injury Update and Fantasy Football Outlook on Colts WR Ahead of Week 9

    Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs is one of many Colts wide receivers that has contributed to the team’s offensive success. He is one of five players on the Colts team that has at least 200 receiving yards and is having success with new quarterback, Daniel Jones.

    As the Colts prepare to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a crucial Week 9 matchup, Downs appeared a setback earlier this week in practice.

    Josh Downs Injury Update

    Josh Downs popped up on the Indianapolis Colts’ injury report this week. Dealing with a hip injury, Downs was held out of the team’s Wednesday practice.

    Downs has dealt with his fair share of injuries this season. He has been dealing with an ankle injury and was sidelined in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers with a concussion.

    Is Josh Downs Playing This Week?

    The Colts got good news regarding Josh Downs a day after he was sidelined from practice on Wednesday. Downs returned to the practice field a day later on Thursday and the belief is that he will be active for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    The Colts will likely monitor Downs’ ankle prior to kickoff, but barring anything unexpected, he should be a go to play this week.

    Josh Downs Fantasy Outlook

    In a crowded Colts passing game, Josh Downs is amongst the most productive pass-catching options for quarterback Daniel Jones. Downs ranks third in targets (37), third in receptions (29), fourth in receiving yards (256), and is tied for the third-most receiving touchdowns with two.

    If Downs can’t go this Sunday, expect receivers Alec Pierce and Michael Pittman Jr. to get an increase in targets.
