It remains unknown whether Woody Marks will be able to suit up this Sunday for the Houston Texans game against the Las Vegas Raiders at NRG Stadium for Week 16 of the NFL. This weekend will mark the return of several players for the Texans, including Nick Chubb, Christian Kirk, and potentially Azeez Al-Shaair.
He remains listed as questionable, due to a recurrence of an ankle injury he suffered a couple of weeks ago, which returned last week against the Arizona Cardinals. He missed the second half of that Week 15 game, although coach DeMeco Ryans said he could’ve returned to the game if they had chosen to.
What Happened to Woody Marks?
The running back originally suffered an ankle injury in Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts. Initially, he was able to return to the game and play through the injury, but he has been suffering from a nagging ankle issue ever since.
In Week 15, the injury returned in a game against the Arizona Cardinals. He was taken off the field at halftime out of an abundance of caution, although head coach DeMeco Ryans claims he could’ve kept playing.
Will Woody Marks Play Today?
No, Woody Marks is expected to be inactive today. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Texans are not planning to have Marks available for Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
While earlier reports suggested he might be a game-day decision, Houston has ultimately opted for a cautious approach, leaving Marks sidelined for this matchup.
Woody Marks Fantasy Outlook
With Marks expected to be inactive, fantasy managers should avoid starting him this week. The Texans’ backfield will instead be led by Nick Chubb, who is in line for the majority of carries and should be locked into lineups as the primary option.
Marks can remain on fantasy benches for now, but his role will be worth revisiting once he’s healthy and back in the active rotation.
