The Cleveland Browns have a cycle of finding a promising young quarterback, dropping the ball on him and then finding another promising young quarterback, and that may be happening to Shedeur Sanders. ESPN Cleveland’s Aaron Goldhammer shared his thoughts on what the Browns might do next, and it seems that the team, known for drafting so many quarterbacks in the first round, maybe looking for a new one straight from college.
Goldhammer noted that there is a high chance that the Browns would do what they have always done and draft a quarterback. To get a promising one, they would have to trade up, and they might use Shedeur Sanders to trade for a higher trade spot. He said:
“I do think that the Browns are drafting for a quarterback, and the Browns are gonna drafting in the top two, and I think they are drafting either Fernando Mendoza or Dante Moore, because I think the potential of those guys, while Shedeur is fine and maybe better than what some people expected, I think the potential of those franchise QBs are going to be greater and I think they will trade Sanders for a later draft pick at some point this offseason.”
The Browns have been described as a team that has been obsessed with getting a good quarterback, only for the team to fumble that quarterback. The biggest example may be Baker Mayfield, who is now considered one of the best quarterbacks in the league, finding his groove with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Shedeur Sanders Seen Apologizing To Backup Dillon Gabriel After He Got Booed
During last Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills, head coach Kevin Stefanski had to take Shedeur Sanders out after the rookie quarterback got bloodied after a play. However, as his backup, fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel came to play, he was booed by the home crowd. Shedeur Sanders did not like this.
Sanders was then seen apologizing to Gabriel for the boos, with the former Colorado QB calling out Browns fans, saying that he legitimately got hurt and had to be taken out, so they had no reason to boo Gabriel. Things got worse for Gabriel, as he got sacked in his only snap of the game, getting more boos.
