Anthony Edwards and Team USA Stars shocked Team World and Team USA Stripes en route to their 2026 NBA All-Star Game championship win. The Stars beat Team World 37-35 in the opener, lost the second game 42-40 to the Stripes, but bounced back with a dominant 47-21 win over the “old heads,” behind an excellent performance from Edwards.
The four-time All-Star won his first NBA All-Star MVP award after that outing. Edwards scored 13 points against Team World, added 11 in the first game against the Stripes and eight more in the championship game, taking his tally to 32. He also had nine rebounds, three assists and one steal. He shot 13 of 22 from the field.
Anthony Edwards snagged the award from Kawhi Leonard, who scored more points overall. Leonard scored 37 points across three games. 31 came against Team World in Team Stripes’ second game as Leonard willed his side to a win.
Edwards could have also faced stiff competition from Victor Wembanyama, who set the tone for the night with his intensity. However, Team World lost both their games and failed to advance to the championship round. Wembanyama scored 33 points combined.
