Trma.si, a Slovenian outlet, reported on Tuesday that a disagreement in December between Luka Doncic and his then-fiancee, Anamaria Goltes, needed police intervention. The fashion model called the authorities to the Kranj Maternity Hospital when Doncic allegedly tried to bring their 2-year-old daughter Gabriela back to the United States.
Goltes was in the hospital for the birth of Olivia, her second daughter with the LA Lakers superstar. Doncic left his team early that month for “personal reasons,” an occasion he used to be with his kids. The All-Star point guard wanted to bring Gabi back to Los Angeles, but was reportedly prevented from doing so.
According to the police report obtained by ESPN, the police didn’t find any offense against Doncic, who left his country after that argument with Goltes. The former Dallas Mavericks superstar has not seen his daughters since leaving the hospital.
On Tuesday, Luka Doncic opened up in an interview with ESPN about the status of his relationship with Anamaria Goltes. Amid persistent breakup rumors, Doncic said:
“I love my daughters more than anything, and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement.”
Since leaving Slovenia in late September 2025, Doncic has reportedly seen his daughters for just two days. Goltes, according to TMZ on Tuesday, is petitioning for child support. The former couple is in a custody battle for their daughters.

TMZ Sports reported on Tuesday that Anamaria Goltes hopes to retain custody of her daughters with Luka Doncic. In the petition files obtained by the publication, Goltes declared that she left Doncic in May 2025.
Doncic’s tumultuous journey started in February that year when the Dallas Mavericks traded him to the LA Lakers. Three months after the emotional change of scenery, the point guard was no longer with Goltes and their daughter Gabi.
In January, online detectives noticed something significant in Goltes’ social media activities. She shared two collections on Instagram detailing the highlights of her life from 2016 to 2026. Conspicuously, Luka Doncic, who began dating Goltes in 2016, wasn’t in any of the photos.
Some were convinced the two were still an item until both scrubbed their IG accounts of their past photos together last week. Neither Doncic nor Goltes has the NBA star’s proposal picture, a clear giveaway to the status of their relationship.
It hasn’t been a year since Anamaria Goltes moved back to Slovenia before Luka Doncic ended the engagement.
