Washington Wizards vs Los Angeles Lakers Prediction, Injury Reports and Starting Lineups (Mar. 30)

The Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers round off their season series on Monday. The Lakers won the previous matchup 142-111 in Washington on Jan. 30. The lopsided result saw Luka Doncic record a 37-point triple-double on 61.9% shooting. Meanwhile, Deandre Ayton had a 28-point double-double on 12 of 14 shots.

Alex Sarr was the Wizards’ best player with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists on 8 of 14 shots. The outcome is unlikely to be much different, as the Lakers remain a stronger opponent for the rebuilding Wizards to prevail against.

Los Angeles enters this game third in the West with a 48-26 record, while Washington is 17-57, 14th in the East.

    Wizards vs. Lakers Preview

The Washington Wizards have won once in their last 18 games, which came against the Utah Jazz, who are also tanking. The Wizards lost 123-88 to Portland on Sunday. They were shorthanded and had no answers for the more talented Blazers team led by Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara. Washington will hope Alex Sarr returns Monday to give them some life against the in-form Los Angeles Lakers.

The Purple and Gold have won 11 of their last 12. Their last two wins have come against the tanking Pacers and Nets. Brooklyn bothered a fatigued Los Angeles team until the fourth, when Luka Doncic went on a heater to close the contest. On Monday, the Lakers won’t have that luxury as Doncic picked up his 16th technical foul, earning a one-game suspension.

Nevertheless, LeBron James, as a first or second option alongside Austin Reaves, can still turn the clock back, and the Lakers will remain heavily favored to win.
