Bradley Beal is being accused of “gaslighting” Phoenix Suns fans, with fans criticizing a message Beal shared on social media after the Suns were eliminated from the playoffs.
The Suns lost Game 4 of their first-round series against the OKC Thunder on Monday and were swept out of the playoffs by the reigning champs. Shortly after Phoenix was eliminated, Beal shared a message on X.
“Gave ’em the warning and still said F it,” Beal wrote.
Fans claimed that Beal’s message was directed at the Phoenix Suns and criticized him. After being called out for his first message, Beal posted two additional messages, saying that his words were not directed at the Suns. Fans pushed back on his explanation.
“Idk how I was referring to PHX, but okay, let’s run with that! Lol,” Beal wrote. “Y’all gotta move on, champ.”
Here are the most noteworthy reactions on X:
“You’re trash, loser stfu,” one fan said.
“You tweeting this shows you need to move on. How do you not expect fans to be negative towards you when you held the Suns franchise hostage and wouldn’t waive your trade clause,” another fan said.
“We can’t move on, we’re still paying you,” one fan wrote.
“Saying this, but you’re the one watching on ur couch and tweeting 10 min after the game LMFOAOOO,” another fan wrote.
“You’re tweeting about the Suns talking about ‘y’all gotta move on,’” a fan commented.
Bradley Beal criticizes his usage with the Phoenix Suns
Beal signed with the LA Clippers ahead of the 2025-26 season after the Suns bought him out of his contract last summer. He returned to Phoenix to a hostile reception from fans, who booed him throughout the night.
After the game, Beal spoke to The Athletic and criticized the role he played on the Suns, saying he couldn’t be “that guy.”
“When you allow me to be that guy, I’ll be that,” Beal said. “But when you have two coaches that want you to set screens and play in the dunker, you’re not Brad Beal. You’re somebody else.”
Bradley Beal played 106 games for the Suns, averaging 17.6 points, 4.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.
