Suns Depth Chart After Blockbuster Miles Bridges Trade Pairs Him With Devin Booker in Phoenix

The expected move of Miles Bridges has gone down. After the blockbuster LaMelo Ball trade last week, the Charlotte Hornets have made another deal, sending Bridges to the Phoenix Suns, according to ESPN’s Sham Charania on social media on Sunday.

    Charania wrote on X:

“BREAKING: The Charlotte Hornets are trading Miles Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick to the Phoenix Suns for Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale and a 2033 first-round pick, sources tell ESPN.”

The Suns have decided to rethink their roster combination for next season, but it seems they are adamant about keeping Devin Booker. The guard signed a two-year, $145 million contract extension with the Suns last year. While dispatching both Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale, who are efficient wings with perimeter shooting, the team has bet big on Bridges.

With the new signing, the Suns’ depth chart will look different.

Guards: Collin Gillespie, Devin Booker, Amir Coffey, Jordan Goodwin, Koby Brea

Forwards: Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Ryan Dunn, Haywood Highsmith,

    Centers: Oso Ighodaro,

Booker and Co. were swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the 2025-26 NBA playoffs. The team management is looking to address the Suns’ offensive woes this offseason by bringing different pieces around Booker.

The Suns bet big on Miles Bridges

The Suns signed Jalen Green in 2025, giving them enough firepower in the frontcourt.

Grayson Allen, who was with the Suns for the last three seasons, posted career-best numbers in the 2025-26 season, scoring 16.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists, hooting 34.9% from deep. Moreover, he brings flair to the defense, averaging 1.4 steals last season.

Meanwhile, Royce O’Neale also had his best season in the NBA: 9.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg and 2.7 apt, scoring 40.8% from deep.

On the other hand, Miles Bridges put up 17.1 ppg, 5.8 rpg and 3.2 apt last season, shooting just 33.3% from the 3-point line.

Even though the Hornets are giving a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick to the Suns in exchange for a 2033 first-round pick, it looks like the Hornets’ front office has made a good deal. The franchise is looking to bet on the Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller duo, with some good shooters in O’Neale, Allen and Naz Reid.

The team looks scary as far as perimeter shooting is concerned. Only time will tell how the Hornets will perform in the regular season, a team that looks overpowered on paper.
