“STEVE KERR OFF MY TEAM”: Warriors Fans React to Steph Curry, Draymond Green and HC’s Warm Embrace as 12th Season Together Ends

The Golden State Warriors couldn’t replicate the magic they showed in their earlier 9th vs 10th play-in win over the LA Clippers. In a must-win game against the Phoenix Suns on Friday, they were unable to put up a similar fourth-quarter comeback, and ultimately lost 111-96.

With that loss, the Warriors’ 2025-2026 season comes to an end, eliminating them from playoff contention. During the dying moments of the one-sided affair, an emotional scene unfolded on the sidelines. Steph Curry and Draymond Green shared a hug with head coach Steve Kerr, marking the end of their 12th season together as a trio.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen next, but I love you guys to death,” Steve Kerr told Curry and Green.

That moment quickly caught the attention of fans online. Many began speculating about what it could mean for the future, wondering if this might be the last time the trio is seen together in Golden State. Some reactions were emotional, while others were blunt, with many calling for changes.

The Warriors never really found their footing against the Suns. Aside from a brief 2-0 lead in the opening play, they were chasing the game the entire night.

It was a stark contrast to their energetic display against the Clippers. This time, Steph Curry struggled to get going, finishing with just 17 points on 25% FG. The frontcourt didn’t offer much support either, as the trio of Kristaps Porzingis, Draymond Green, and Gui Santos combined for only 25 points and nine rebounds.

Defensively, things weren’t motivating either. The Warriors had no answer for Jalen Green, who exploded for 36 points. Meanwhile, Jordan Goodwin, Osho Ighodaro, and Royce O’Neale chipped in a combined 40 points, well above the 25.0 points per game that they have collectively averaged during the regular season.

Steve Kerr hints at 2025-2026 season being final as coach for Steph Curry and Warriors

After the Golden State Warriors wrapped up their season, head coach Steve Kerr shared some honest thoughts that caught attention. During the postgame press conference, he admitted he was uncertain about his future with the team, raising the possibility that his 12-year-long run in Golden State could be nearing its end.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen. I still love coaching, but I get it. These jobs all have an expiration date,” Kerr said. “It may still go on. It may not.”

Kerr has been at the heart of the Warriors’ success, leading them to four championships. However, the past few seasons have not had the same success. Outside of their 2022 title run, the team has struggled to stay competitive. They missed the playoffs four times since the 2019-2020 season, and in the two seasons they did make it, they were eliminated in the second round without really looking like serious contenders.
