Stephon Castle’s Mom Reveals True Emotional Reason Behind Deleted Tweet After Spurs’ Game 4 Win

Stephon Castle’s mom, Quannette Castle, appeared emotional before  Sunday’s Game 4 between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder. Quannette took to X to express her feelings with a heartbroken tweet.

“Today will be hard 💔💔💔🥲🥹,” she wrote.

Many were confused about whether the tweet was about the Spurs’ game or something else bothering her. Most believed it was related to San Antonio trailing Oklahoma City 2-1 in the series. After fans flooded the comments of her tweet, Quannette took it down, saying:

“This has nothing to do with the Spurs. They will win,” she said in her first tweet.

    Shortly, she added:

“I removed my post. The lack of awareness from some people is disappointing. This is real life. Stay off my timeline.”

After the Spurs leveled the series with a 102-83 blowout win, Castle’s mom cleared the air about her earlier tweets, indicating they lost a close family member.

    “For you nana… ❤️🥹💗🥹💗”

Stephon Castle didn’t stuff that statsheet, but had a productive and more efficient game than the previous three outings. He had 13 points, three rebounds and six assists on 5 of 11 shots. Castle had 17 and 25 points in Games 1 and 2 with 19 assists combined, but he turned the ball over 20 times. In Game 3, he resolved his turnover issues but shot a measly 1-for-8 from the field.

Stephon Castle gets best perimeter defender nod from Spurs teammate after clamping Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Stephon Castle has been assigned as the primary defender on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the Western Conference finals. It’s as tough as it gets against the reigning two-time MVP and finals MVP, but Castle has held his ground. He’s largely been influential in holding Gilgeous-Alexander to 24.8 points on 39.2% field goal shooting.

On Sunday, Castle limited the Thunder superstar to 19 points, seven assists, and four turnovers on 6-for-15 shooting. Spurs forward Devin Vassell made a bold claim about Castle following his spectacular effort, saying:

“Best perimeter defender in the league and he holds himself to the standard. He buys in all the time, he’s ultra-physical, knows how to slide his feet, has quick hands and is just a pest the whole game.”

Whether Stephon Castle has struggled on offense or not, his defense has been consistently solid in the playoffs. The Spurs will hope he can continue that in Game 5 as they look to take a 3-2 series advantage back home for Game 6 and close the contest in front of their fans.
