Four-time NBA champion and Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has shared a message for a college basketball program. On Thursday, Jan. 15, coach Jon Scheyer and his Duke Blue Devils went up against coach Mark Madsen’s California Golden Bears at Haas Pavilion in Berkley, California.
Among those in attendance during the game were Stephen Curry, his brother Seth Curry, and their father, Dell Curry. After the game, Stephen visited the Blue Devils’ locker room, as seen in a video on @dukeglobalzone’s Instagram. There, he shared a heartfelt message with the young aspirants.
“NBA legend Steph Curry says he’s Duke family. Steph was at the Duke vs Cal game last night along side his brother and former Duke hooper Seth Curry and his Father and former Hornet legend Dell Curry. Welcome to the brotherhood @stephencurry30 😈😈😈,” @dukeglobalzone on Instagram captioned with three devil emojis.
“Well, I guess I’m Duke family,” Stephen Curry said.
Stephen Curry is currently in the 17th year of his illustrious NBA career in the 2025-26 campaign, all of which has been spent with coach Steve Kerr’s Warriors. Before this, Curry spent all four years of his collegiate basketball tenure with the Davidson Wildcats from 2006 to 2009. The two-time regular-season MVP was drafted by Golden State with the seventh overall pick in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft.
His brother, Seth, is currently in his 12th campaign in the league and is also a member of the Warriors. Meanwhile, their father, Dell, was also an NBA player from 1986 to 2002, playing for teams such as the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Toronto Raptors.
Stephen Curry’s Brother Seth Played Four Years Of College Basketball With The Duke Blue Devils
Perhaps the reason the Curry family was present for the Duke Blue Devils’ most recent regular-season game is that Seth Curry, Stephen Curry’s brother, is a former Blue Devil himself.
The sharpshooter played four years of his collegiate tenure at Duke from 2009 to 2013. Before this, he played his freshman year with the Liberty Flames before transferring to the Blue Devils program.
