A week ago, former Chicago Bulls guard Jaden Ivey, on Instagram Live, told his fans that his wife, Caitlyn Ivey, wasn’t communicating with him. Ivey’s revelation came after the Bulls fired him for anti-gay comments and controversial religious interpretations.
On Monday, Ivey had another IG livestream where he showed his wife, who didn’t want to appear in the video. Fans reacted to the clip of Caitlyn hurriedly gathering her belongings before leaving Ivey without saying anything.
One fan wrote:
“She about to divorce him and take half his fortune and go back to white men.”
Another fan added:
“He is clearly not stable. What was the point of making this video?”
One more fan continued:
“She loves god enough to skip the live.”
Another fan commented:
“Soon to be ex wife. She is fed up.
One fan tweeted:
“He gonna beat her a** for not obeying.”
Caitlyn Ivey received criticism after Jaden Ivey claimed that she refused to communicate with him. Ivey’s wife responded to the backlash with an Instagram story last week:
“If you know me, you know I have never abandoned that man through all the trials.. And still haven’t now.
“There is obviously a lot more going on, so leave your conspiracies and guesses to yourselves.”
When a fan accused her of staying with Jaden Ivey only because he played in the NBA, Caitlyn responded:
“We were communicating all morning of that day. People say things for attention, do not be deceived.”
Ivey’s wife is determined to stick with him, but she seemingly doesn’t want to appear in any of his IG engagements with fans.
The former Detroit Pistons guard’s troubles started when he called the NBA’s Pride Month celebration “unrighteousness.” He also made some religious remarks that earned him backlash from fans. The Bulls waived him a week ago for “conduct detrimental to the team.”
Jaden Ivey Recently Spotted Preaching Gospel in Auburn
Jaden Ivey vowed not to stay silent about his faith after the Chicago Bulls waived him a week ago. On Sunday, a fan shared a video of Ivey and a group of people preaching in Auburn, Alabama.
One of his companions brought a sign that read, “Repent of Sin,” “Believe in the Gospel” and “Obey Jesus.” Ivey, using a microphone, echoed loudly Matthew 5:8:
“Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.”
While the 24-year-old guard remains passionately outspoken about the Bible and his religious beliefs, his basketball career could be in limbo. After getting released by the Bulls, it remains to be seen if any team will sign him in the offseason.
