The repercussions of Jaden Ivey’s candid Instagram Live sessions have extended to his wife, Caitlyn Ivey. Cut by the Chicago Bulls on Monday, Ivey said a day later that his wife had cut off communication from him. The comment led to backlash against Caitlin, who finally pushed back via an Instagram story.
She wrote:
“If you know me, you know I have never once abandoned that man through all the trials.. And I still haven’t now.
“There is obviously a lot more going on, so leave your conspiracies and guesses to yourselves.”

Jaden Ivey’s wife shared screenshots of other people slamming her following his comments. One fan wrote that “She only wanted you because you were in the NBA.”
Caitlyn singled out that critic and responded:
“We were communicating all morning of that day. People say things for attention, do not be deceived.”

The former Detroit Pistons guard’s unfiltered engagement with fans led to many hammering his wife. Ivey said on a livestream on Tuesday:
“Those who are around me, those who are my family members, betraying me because of what I spoke. The truth. Betraying me. Saying that I’m losing my mind. Saying that I’m crazy. … Those are my own household. All because of the gospel. All because I said the truth. … My wife is in here, and she’s not even texting me.”
Over the weekend, Jaden Ivey made some controversial remarks about religion and an anti-LGBTQ comment that led to the Bulls cutting him. After he was waived, Ivey even attacked Steph Curry’s religion and included Michael Jordan and LeBron James in his rant.
Jaden Ivey Emphasized His Wife’s Role Amid Struggles
Jaden Ivey joined the “PinPoint” podcast on Wednesday for an interview. Unsurprisingly, he didn’t hold back and opened up about his struggles.
Ivey shared this with the hosts:
“I’ve almost committed suicide multiple times, and I’m not ashamed to say it. I’m not ashamed because God was merciful to keep me here. I almost committed suicide. I had pills in my hand. And my wife was telling me, ‘Don’t do this. Don’t go down this road.’ I didn’t do it by God’s grace.”
Most of the fans who saw his IG Live sessions urged him to get help. Some thought that he was having a mental breakdown.
Jaden Ivey has his wife to thank for amid his struggles that nearly pushed him to end his life.
