LeBron James’ basketball DNA is so strong that it has impacted every child of the James family, including his daughter Zhuri James. Zhuri was seen on the court during the LA Lakers’ last game, showcasing some shots and handles during a practice session with her father. After the game, the media asked King James about his daughter’s feelings on playing the sport and how his wife, Savannah James, would react to seeing her daughter.
The LA Lakers registered a win against the Golden State Warriors after back-to-back losses. Luka Doncic led the offense with 26 points and eight assists, and James contributed 22 points and nine assists to win the game, 129-101.
After the win, James was questioned about playing with Zhuri and her prospects of being part of the WNBA one day. He replied with a hilarious, intimidated response about how her wife, Savannah, would get mad to see Zhuri hoop with her father. He said:
“She’s a volleyball player. Don’t get my wife mad. My wife is done with this basketball sh*t. She’s done with it. She’s a volleyball player but she’s been around the game for a while. She got good handles and a good form too but my wife ain’t playin that. Not another one. She said, that’s it.”
Besides, the James family consists of two brothers, Bronny and Bryce James. While Bronny is part of the Lakers’ rookie team and G League squad, Bryce is part of the University of Arizona’s squad in college.
“She’s a good-luck charm,” LeBron James shares secret to road win
LeBron James’ daughter was with him in their game against the Warriors. She showcased a slick behind-the-back bucket and then passed a lob to her father during their short session before the game.
After a loss to the Phoenix Suns in the last game, the Lakers needed every bit of luck for their next road game in San Francisco. After the game, the 4-time NBA champion shared why Zhuri’s presence was important for him. He said:
“She’s a good-luck charm. First road trip in my career that she’s been on besides All-Star Weekend and stuff like that.”
Lady Luck worked perfectly as King James 9 (+26) led the offense, shooting 7-13 from the field and 4-6 from deep. The Lakers will now travel back to LA for their next couple of home games. They will look to extend the winning run and secure a playoff berth.
