Robert Parish did not mince his words while praising LeBron James after the Los Angeles Lakers star broke his NBA record for most games played.
James passed Parish’s record on Saturday as he suited up for the 1,612th game of his storied career. He finished with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists as Luke Kennard hit the game-winning shot to give the Lakers their ninth consecutive win.
After the game, Parish wrote a message on social media, congratulating James for breaking his NBA record, which stood for almost three decades.
“Congrats on passing the most games played, 1,611,” Parish wrote. “You continue pushing for greatness/excellence combined with grace and respect for the game is a feel-good moment for me!”
Parish played 21 seasons in the NBA, totaling 1,611 games, averaging 14.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game, shooting 53.7%. He made two All-NBA teams over his career, playing for the Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics.

That’s not all, as James is fourth on the NBA’s all-time assists and has the sixth most steals in NBA history.
The four-time champion is averaging 21.1 ppg, 5.8 rpg and 6.8 apg in his record 23rd season in the league. Led by James and Luka Doncic, the Lakers are third in the Western Conference with a 46-25 record.
James and Co. will return to the court on Monday to face the Eastern Conference leaders, the Detroit Pistons. This will be a real test for the team as they face one of this season’s championship contenders. However, with Cade Cunningham out, the Lakers hold a slight advantage on paper.
