Popular NBA agent Rich Paul sent the NBA world into a frenzy with his latest comments on Scottie Pippen’s role in Michael Jordan’s success.
Pippen and Jordan were part of the Chicago Bulls dynasty that won six championships in the 1990s. While Jordan was widely considered the most important player on the team, Paul believes he wouldn’t have won a single ring without Pippen on the roster.
On an episode of his podcast, Game Over, with Max Kellerman and Gilbert Arenas, the panelists talked about Jordan’s Bulls legacy. Arenas said Pippen’s six championships don’t have the same value as MJ’s. However, Paul, who is also LeBron James’ agent, disagreed with Arenas:
“I think Scottie’s rings are the same as Michael Jordan’s. He was the most impactful player on the team. If you unplug Scottie Pippen off that team, Jordan is 0-6.”
Pippen was one of the best two-way forwards in the league and earned seven All-Star selections.
