“No Playoff Games Cuz ICEMAN Here”: Tyrese Haliburton Drops Hilarious Tweet as Fans Gear Up For Drake’s Album Drops

For Tyrese Haliburton and the rest of the NBA faithful, Thursday was a relatively uneventful day as there were no playoff games scheduled. But Haliburton, ever the pop culture savant, found a convenient explanation for this lack of action.

Just hours before midnight, the Indiana Pacers star went on X to offer his theory: The league had scheduled no games in order to give way to a highly anticipated album release.

“No playoff games cuz Iceman here, respect @NBA”

Tyrese Haliburton was referring to “Iceman,” the ninth studio album by hip hop star Drake. As it turned out, the “What Did I Miss?” rapper had a couple of other surprises as he went on to drop two more albums (“Maid of Honour” and “Habibti”).

While Drake has yet to drop a Tyrese Haliburton reference in his songs, he did give a shoutout to two of the biggest NBA stars in his most recent body of work. On the song “Make Them Remember,” Drake appeared to diss LeBron James with the line “I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up.”

Meanwhile, on “2 Hard 4 The Radio,” Drizzy had a Steph Curry bar: “Back when they was asking about where Davidson was at…now everybody got a blue 30 on they back”

Haliburton, whose love for Drake’s music is well-documented, must have been thrilled to hear the NBA references as he listened to the rapper’s triple release.

“I Rock With This”: Tyrese Haliburton Reacts to Heated Scene Involving Timberwolves HC and Senior Official

Tyrese Haliburton has witnessed his fair share of fiery exchanges on the hardcourt, and last week, he saw one on national television.

At one point during the Timberwolves-Spurs series, Wolves head coach Chris Finch and senior referee Tony Brothers nearly went at it as they had a difference of opinions.

Seeing this situation, Haliburton couldn’t help but feel satisfied.

“I rock w/ this! No tech to mess up the game, let’s just talk s*** like adults and move on! Look at KA, Naz, and Bones all laugh”

Haliburton, of course, would rather be out on the court leading the Pacers to another deep playoff run, as opposed to watching the events unfold on a screen.
