LeBron James is moving on from the Los Angeles Lakers after spending eight seasons with the franchise. While fans debate where the four-time NBA champion will go next, former NFL linebacker and sports analyst Emmanuel Acho has already predicted next season’s champion.
Moments after reports came out of James’ departure, Acho made a bold prediction on X.
“Your 2026 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors starting lineup:
C: Kristaps Porzingis
PF: Anthony Davis
SF: Draymond Green
SG: LeBron James
PG: Steph Curry 🔥🔥🔥🔥.”
While Acho’s post was purely speculative and not based on insider reporting, it immediately fueled conversations about the possibility of James joining forces with his rival, Stephen Curry.
If Acho’s projected lineup were to become reality, it would unite two solid players who spent time going against each other looking to clinch a spot in NBA Finals.
James also shares a close friendship with Warriors forward Draymond Green.
LeBron James’ Potential Destinations
Although Golden State has been highly rumored to go after the NBA star since his decision, it is far from the only franchise linked with the future Hall of Famer.
A return to the Cleveland Cavaliers is another possibility. It was James’ first team as well as his hometown team, and he won his first NBA championship with them.
The Miami Heat could also be seen as a potential landing spot should financial flexibility allow a reunion.
The Denver Nuggets remain an intriguing outside option, with the possibility of pairing James alongside Nikola Jokić, creating one of the league’s most powerful duos.
For now, James has yet to announce where he will continue his career. But as free agency approaches, speculation continues to intensify.
Whether Acho’s prediction ultimately proves accurate remains to be seen, but if James and Curry were ever to share the same locker room, it would send shockwaves through the league.
