It’s the NBA offseason for all but two teams, and that means LeBron James has more time for his favorite pastime of golf. His distinct swing has been the subject of much chatter over the years, with four-time major winner Nelly Korda the latest to weigh in.
Appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Korda was asked to comment on an Instagram story showing James attempting a chip shot for a birdie. She gave a positive assessment of James’ golfing display.
“He brings that right knee in, like he’s actually finishing his swing. In chipping you have to stay really still, your lower body can’t move… I think it’s a 10 out of 10 shot. At the end of the day it’s in the bottom of the cup, that’s what matters.”
Korda also said she’s been catching up on James’ previous golf videos, noting that the LA Lakers superstar has made progress.
“He is loosening up, I will say. Throughout his videos, the first couple that he started, he was really stiff.”
Clearly, this is high praise for a casual golfer like James, whose competitive drive cuts through every venture in his personal and professional life.
However, an elite NBA talent like LBJ would much rather extend his season into June than spend plenty of time working on his golf swing. James, in fact, hasn’t gotten out of the second round since 2023 when he led the Lakers to the Western Conference Finals.
Report: Warriors Remain Intent on Going After LeBron James This Offseason
There’s a possibility that LeBron James doesn’t don the purple and gold the next time he suits up again for an NBA game.
Insider Jake Fischer reported this week that the Golden State Warriors are still eyeing the King, who happens to be good friends with Steph Curry and Draymond Green off the court.
“Staying with the Lakers is widely believed to be his preferred choice because he is so entrenched in Los Angeles now after eight seasons with the purple and gold. Yet league sources maintain that Golden State remains legitimately interested in adding LeBron to their Stephen Curry/Jimmy Butler/Draymond Green core coached by Steve Kerr.”
Fischer added that the Warriors are hoping to sell James on the idea of an easy commute from Los Angeles “without having to move his family.”
