NBA World Reacts to U.S. and Israel Launch Major Attack on Iran

The NBA world reacted to the U.S. and Israel’s attack on Iran this Saturday. The United States and Israel struck multiple locations in Iran, including the country’s capital. POTUS has described the move as a “major combat operation.”

Iran has also struck back by attacking Israel and US military bases. While details regarding casualties and damage remain sparse, the news of the attack has been shocking for many. The NBA world reacted to the hostilities on Saturday:

“Wait … what the hell happened while we were sleeping?” Ashley Nicole Moss asked.

“Nothing like waking up to war,” said Tari Eason’s mother, Teroya Eason.

“New rule: Every elected official that votes ‘yes’ for war must send one immediate family member to the front lines,” wrote Anna Horford, Al Horford’s sister.

Donald Trump also shared an eight-minute-long video on X, sharing the U.S. and Israel’s intent behind the aggression toward Iran.

“Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very hard, terrible people. Its menacing activities directly endanger the United States, our troops, our bases overseas, and our allies throughout the world,” Trump said.

Trump continued, explaining that the strike came after negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program fell apart. This is not the first time both sides have been at odds. In June 2025, Israel and Iran were engaged in a war that lasted 12 days.

Viral Post Claims Los Angeles Lakers Will Wear Star of David Patch Amid U.S.-Iran Hostilities

X account @JakeMorrisonNBA claimed that the Los Angeles Lakers will reportedly play their upcoming match with a Star of David patch as a show of support for the Israeli people amid the hostilities between both countries.

While the post is gaining traction on social media, this is just a rumor. The Lakers have made no statement regarding this, and no credible accounts have corroborated the claim.

The account @JakeMorrisonNBA, which made the claim originally, is a satire account, known for posting outlandish claims and spinning the rumor mill. For example, the account also reported that the Warriors had fired Steve Kerr following Thursday’s loss against the New Orleans Pelicans.
