NBA Trade Deadline Exact Time Today: When Is It Ending?

The NBA midseason trade period has reached its final stage, as teams continue to move their pieces rapidly to fit them with the roster and playoff strategies. The trade period has been filled with some expected and some surprise moves, as Jaren Jackson Jr. moves to Utah while Anthony Davis teams up with Trae Young in Washington. As we get into the final hours of the trade deadline, fans might wonder when the trade period actually ends.

The teams will have until 3 p.m. on February 5 to make a final call on the deals and trades for the 2025-26 season. However, there is still no news on the most anticipated name in the trade market, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Warriors, the Knicks, and others were looking to add the Greek Freak to their rosters, but they have not taken any calls on him yet. It might be possible that the Milwaukee Bucks front office decides to stay put and not engage in any deal till the offseason, when teams will have better flexibility to bid for the superstar forward.

However, several teams have taken the lead on trade deals and announced their final picks. Let’s recap what has happened thus far in the trade market.

February 4 was an exciting day in the NBA trade market after several major pieces were moved, as teams looked to make a final run for the postseason. Anthony Davis going to the Washington Wizards was the highlight. The Dallas Mavericks received Khris Middleton, Marvin Bagley III, and two other players, with two first-rounders and three second-rounders.

Jaren Jackson Jr. was moved in an unexpected deal to the Utah Jazz in another eight-player package, in which the Memphis Grizzlies received three first-round picks. James Harden will travel to Cleveland in a guard swap with Darius Garland.

Besides that, the Warriors have finally parted ways with Jonathan Kuminga, who will move to the Atlanta Hawks, along with his teammate Buddy Hield. In return, the front office finally got a good wing they were looking for in Kristaps Porziņģis. The top seed in the Western Conference, the OKC Thunder, has added guard Jared McCain and Mason Plumlee to its squad.

On the final day of the trade period, the only player transaction that happened was the Chicago Bulls signing Mac McClung to a two-way contract.
