LeBron James is in hot water after the Los Angeles Lakers failed to advance to the conference finals in the NBA playoffs. His struggles took another turn recently, as a leaked track from Drake’s album, Iceman, mentioned James, but not in a good way. Earlier, the 4-time NBA champion was seen vibing at Kendrick Lamar’s Toronto concert. And now, Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan, has also joined the conversation.
Hip hop artists Kendrick Lamar and Drake were involved in a high-profile beef in 2024, which included several tracks from each side. Lamar’s track ‘Not Like Us,’ which was also from the same series, recieved global recognition and even won several Grammys. Meanwhile, King James has also been an acquaintance of Drake, and the two shared a good relationship. However, that has now turned sour.
The lyrics of the song 1am in Albany referred to #23 in some lines that read:
“I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up… Please stop asking what’s going on with 23 & me, I’m a real n**** and he’s not, it’s in my DNA.”
MJ’s son, Marcus Jordan, shared an Instagram story with Drake’s song 8am in Charlotte playing in the background and mentioned Drake’s leaked song. He wrote:
“Deciphering Drake lyrics via tha leaks with my Mom this morning and has my heart full & cold @ the same time
Iceman almost here”

Marcus is the son of Michael Jordan and Juanita Vanoy. He did not follow in the footsteps of his father and serves as the Founder and CEO of Trophy Room, an exclusive, high-end sneaker marketplace.
In an interview last year, James admitted that they were in different places and phases of life, but he always wished for Drake. However, the Canadian music artists seemed to have decided on James’ role in his life. Drake even got his LeBron tattoo covered and replaced it with a Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ink. His new album will be released on May 15.
Shannon Sharpe and crew in shock after Drake’s latest diss for LeBron James
Shannon Sharpe and his crew discussed Drake’s leaked track that mentioned LeBron James and read the lyrics. The panel was shocked, as the two celebrities had spent some good time together earlier and supported each other’s careers several times. Drake has even given shoutouts to James in his previous songs.
Expressing his shock at the latest controversy, the co-host of the Nightcap show, Chad Johnson, said:
“Are you sure this wasn’t AI and it’s part of the album, Iceman, that’s coming out?”
Johnson wasn’t ready to trust the leak and said that things weren’t believable on the internet. Sharpe added:
“LeBron and Drake were close, they hung out together, and you know, LeBron used to get it if Drake dropped something, LeBron used to get the opportunity to listen to it first.”
Fans on social media are also shocked to see Drake dissing James, even when they shared a good relationship. Notably, Kendrick Lamar’s beef with the Toronto-born rapper went too far and involved several artists and other celebrities. The 4-time NBA MVP has yet to express his feelings on the leak; maybe he is also waiting for the album to drop officially.
