Klay Thompson recently went viral for his birthday surprise for girlfriend rapper Megan Thee Stallion, gifting her a Bentley for her 31st birthday on Feb. 15. Megan Thee Stallion later showed off the Dallas Mavericks star’s surprise in an Instagram post.
However, another Instagram development caught fans’ attention, as observers noticed the two appeared to have unfollowed each other on the platform.
Did Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson Unfollow Each Other on Instagram?
Sharp-eyed fans checked the following lists of Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion and discovered they are not following one another.
And they indeed aren’t — though that alone does not signal anything, as they have only recently shared posts about each other.
Just two days ago, the rapper posted:
“Aw man I was not ready for this birthday trip to be over 🥹 A time was definitely had🏝️🍹🥳 THANK YOU BABY⚓️”
The post featured photos of her at the beach with Thompson and the Bentley he gifted her.
A week earlier, on Klay Thompson’s 36th birthday on February 8, she posted several affectionate photos of them together, including a shot of them kissing.
On that same day, Thompson thanked his girlfriend for giving him his “best birthday ever.”
“Best birthday ever thanks to my baby. I’m still on cloud East 99,” he wrote on Instagram alongside photos from his birthday celebration with the rapper.
While their not following each other on Instagram sparked concern among some fans, there is no indication that they have had a falling out. No reports have suggested any issues between them either.
Fans first began speculating about their relationship in July 2025, when the basketball star appeared in the background of the rapper’s poolside bikini post. Since then, the two have gone increasingly public, with even Thompson’s father, Mychal Thompson, expressing his delight over Megan Thee Stallion — especially praising her cooking.
