There was an unexpected moment during Tuesday night’s performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, when Megan Thee Stallion, the girlfriend of Klay Thompson, suddenly fell sick and had to be taken to the hospital.
At first, the audience had no idea what was happening. The Broadway production came to a halt, leaving many confused. Loren LoRosa, producer and host of The Breakfast Club, shared her experience on X:
“Came to see Meg The stallion on broadway and that was short lived,” The Breakfast Club producer and host Loren LoRosa wrote on X. “The few opening scenes I saw her in she was great on stage! I was excited BUT…They just stopped moulin rouge mid show apologized to the audience and said ..’stay inside and seated’ I asked security if we’re safe .. they told us ‘for now, we’ll update you if anything changes.’”
Soon after, organizers informed the audience about the situation. Megan had reportedly started feeling very unwell during the show and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
“During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available,” the statement from Megan’s team read.
The unfortunate incident comes just a week after Megan Thee Stallion made her Broadway debut. She was scheduled to continue performing through mid-May, but for now, everything is on hold while doctors evaluate her condition. There have been no further updates yet, leaving fans waiting and hoping she recovers quickly.

News about Megan Thee Stallion being hospitalized spread quickly across social media. Even though details were scarce, fans didn’t hesitate to show their support, sending prayers and heartfelt messages for her recovery.
“Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital 🙏,” Megan Thee Stallion’s hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, wrote on X.
“May the Lord be with her. Stay safe queen,” @NoShakingMood wrote.
“i don’t f**k with her but im praying for her safety and health❤️,” @notpopbase said.
“This is a reminder that even the strongest ‘Stallion’ has a breaking point. We need to stop romanticizing exhaustion as a career requirement. I wish her quick recovery,” @LoisAgada said.
“Prayers for her. She is absolutely living in the peak of her life right now and we can’t let it end,” @MissHangman wrote.
