The mid-game spat on Saturday between LA Lakers superstar Luka Doncic and Orlando Magic center Goga Bitadze continues to stir social media. In the postgame interview, Doncic said that he had to stand up for himself after Bitadze allegedly gave an expletive-filled comment about Doncic’s family.
Bitadze refuted Doncic’s claims via an interview with ESPN and the Orlando Sentinel. The Georgian said that Doncic said something about his mother first, prompting him to talk about the superstar guard’s family. Bitadze added that what the MVP candidate said in the postgame conference was “not the truth.”
On Tuesday, an X site that often features verbatim exchanges from players posted the back-and-forth between Luka Doncic and Goga Bitadze. In the clip, it was Doncic first who said that he would “f**k” Bitadze’s mom. The Magic backup center replied, shouting back that he would do the same to Doncic’s “whole family.”
In Bitadze’s interview, he said that his comment was a “heat of the moment” thing and apologized. However, he insisted that Doncic “crossed the line,” forcing him to “respond the same way.”
During the game, Luka Doncic and Goga Bitadze were each called for a technical foul. Doncic kept arguing with the referee, insisting that he only talked back to defend himself.

Still, fans couldn’t hold back from lambasting Doncic for his postgame comments about Bitadze.
