Kon Knueppel’s girlfriend, Lauren Wigley, broke her social media hiatus on Tuesday, sharing pictures on Instagram. The same night, Knueppel became the fastest player in NBA history to reach 200 career 3-pointers.
The collection included multiple photographs of the Charlotte Hornets rookie and Wigley’s time at the Hornets’ games this season. The images were shared with a three-word caption.
“Time’s been flying ;),” Wigley wrote.
Knueppel and Wigley have been together since at least 2024, which is when the NBA rookie shared a picture from his prom. Wigley accompanied him to the high school event.
She was also present when the Hornets drafted Knueppel with the No. 4 pick in 2025. She shared pictures from the draft on Instagram, expressing how proud she was of her boyfriend.
Knueppel has hit the ground running in the NBA, averaging 19.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season, shooting 49.9%, including 43.6% from 3-point range.
Kon Knueppel continues historic run, inching closer to all-time rookie record
Kon Knueppel continued his historic run from 3-point range against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday. He finished the game with 21 points, shooting 7-for-12, including 3-for-6 from 3-point range.
In doing so, he became the fastest player to reach 200 3-pointers, reaching the milestone in 58 games. The record was previously held by Duncan Robinson, who reached the mark in 69 games. Knueppel is second in most 3-pointers made in a rookie season with 201.
He needs five more long-range shots to tie Keegan Murray, who set the record in 2023 with 206 3-pointers in his rookie season. He is making 3.5 3-pointers per night, shooting 43.6%. With 24 games left, he could surpass 250 3-pointers if he maintains that pace.
Knueppel’s solid play has also helped the Hornets keep their playoff hopes alive. The team is on a two-game win streak, holding 10th place in the Eastern Conference with a 28-31 record. They will return to the court on Thursday to face the Indiana Pacers.
