Michael Jordan’s “Jordan” brand got involved in the Chicago Bulls legend’s ongoing rivalry with the Utah Jazz after the team’s Wi-Fi name, which is a dig at Jordan, was shared on social media on Thursday.
NBA reporter Stefan Bondy pointed out how the SSID of the Jazz’s Wi-Fi network at Delta Center reads the following:
“JordanPushedOff.”
This is a reference to the six-time champion’s game-winning shot over Byron Russell. Dubbed as “The Last Shot,” the play was controversial at the time with debates over whether Jordan pushed off. Going by the Jazz’s network name, their thoughts on the subject are clear.
This detail from the Jazz’s beef with Jordan was shared on Instagram by Bleacher Report, drawing a response from the Bulls legend’s brand.
“Rent free,” Jordan’s brand wrote on Instagram.

Fans flocked to the comments section with mixed views. While some questioned Jordan’s move to create space before the shot, others argued that it ultimately would not have mattered as the Bulls were the favorites to win Game 7.
This shot helped Michael Jordan capture the sixth and final championship of his storied career and was also the last playoff points he scored for the Bulls. Meanwhile, the Jazz have not reached the NBA Finals since losing to Jordan and Co. in 1997 and 1998.
Michael Jordan weighs in on the GOAT debate
Speaking on NBC’s “Insights to Excellence,” Michael Jordan shared his thoughts on the GOAT debate, which has led to countless comparisons between himself, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. Addressing the debate, Jordan said:
“The term GOAT is never something that will make me feel proud. It just doesn’t exist for me.”
Jordan suggested that the debate can’t be settled, as players from past generations never get to face off against the next.
“I never played against Oscar Robertson or Jerry West. I would have loved to. I’m a competitor and I learned from them, and we paved the way for the Kobes and LeBrons,” he said. “For me, that’s the beauty of basketball: that one player after another has evolved the game even more. But, from my point of view, don’t use that against the player who taught you the game or the one you learned from. That’s why I have a hard time with it.”
Jordan finished by saying that he would have loved to compete against James and Bryant in his prime, matchups that have long been debated by basketball fans.
