Jalen Brunson’s wife Ali gave the New York Knicks sensation a touching message after he led the team to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.
The seemingly unstoppable Knicks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 130-93 to sweep their Eastern Conference Finals series and advance to the NBA Finals. To sweep any team is hard, but to sweep two in succession in dominant fashion is something unheard of in recent history. Neither the Cavaliers nor the Philadelphia 76ers managed to put much of a dent in their armor as they marched to their first NBA Finals in 27 years.
Brunson, who leads the team in points (26.9), has been at his best this postseason in terms of production. This leadership is a major part of what drives the team to excel and succeed. In Game 4 on Monday, he had 15 points and five assists. He was also awarded Eastern Conference Finals MVP for doing something no version of the franchise players had achieved in the last 27 years.
Brunson’s wife Ali was in attendance in Cleveland, stealing the show by celebrating with other players’ partners on the special occasion.
After the game, the licensed physical therapist posted to Instagram Tuesday morning with adorable pictures of their daughter.
“I can’t wait to tell Jordyn her dad is going to the NBA Finals,” she wrote.
Jordyn is their first and only child. She was born in July 2024.

Since joining the Knicks, Jalen Brunson has become a scoring machine. He has not only cemented himself as a savior of a dying franchise but has also become one of the Knicks’ best ever in the process. It wasn’t long ago that the Knicks had won only one playoff series in years. Since his arrival, the Knicks have won seven playoff series and are now aiming for their first championship since 1973.
After the game, he made his feelings clear on how far the team has come:
“It’s an honor to be here in this city and this organization,” Brunson said. “I wouldn’t trade it for the world. We’re still writing our story, but I like the journey that we’re on right now.”
Well, to be fair, he is still the talk of the basketball world, at least in New York. For a player who was often doubted because of his size, Brunson is well on his way to becoming one of the greatest Knicks we’ve ever seen in action. And for a franchise that’s had superstars including Carmelo Anthony, Patrick Ewing, and Walt “Clyde” Frazier, that’s saying something. So while it may have been fun for some folks to pretend the Knicks never had a real chance at an NBA Finals run, Brunson’s current surge has proven otherwise. He averaged 25.5 points and 7.8 assists per game against Cleveland in the series, while shooting 48.7 percent overall.
