Jalen Brunson Sternly Shuts Up NBA Fans in Reply to “Foul Baiting” Accusations

Jalen Brunson has been in the league for eight years now. Since starting his NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks along with Luka Doncic, Brunson has come a long way. He is well and truly one of the most improved players over the years.

Brunson has led the New York Knicks alongside Karl-Anthony Towns for a couple of years now. Last season, the Knicks looked like a solid side, but they lost to a resilient Indiana Fever in the Eastern Conference Finals. Apart from that, the Knicks had a decent season.

This season, the Knicks have carried the momentum from last season. In fact, they have improved and are currently second in the Eastern Conference with a 20-8 record. Knicks Brunson’s consistency won him the In-Season Tournament Most Valuable Player award this season. He has also improved his averages two-fold this season. He is averaging 29.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 6.6 assists. However, he is often accused of one particular thing, which he recently put to bed.

“I play by the rules. I’m not a foul baiter. I just play by the rules. Be disciplined on defense. I don’t jump backwards. Go look. Go watch the film. I jump straight up again. You’re running full speed. I know about that. When I’m going, right? And defender’s on the screen, right? You’re supposed to trail or try and get back in front. If you’re running full speed, right, I’m going to shoot,” Jalen Brunson explained at 39:34.

“That’s playing the game. I’m going to shoot. And if you foul me, you foul me. I’m not saying, “Oh, I need to get fouled.” I’m going to see if there’s contact. And then I’m shooting the ball regardless. I’m going to score. I just need to say I don’t I don’t jump back. Jumping straight up versus jumping backwards are different,” Brunson added.

Jalen Brunson Addresses ‘Crying to the Referees’ Allegations

When discussing what one can improve, Brunson invited any and every comment towards himself. Lou Williams took this opportunity to say:

    “Stop crying to the referees.”

The entire studio laughed as Jalen Brunson started to clear himself up, while also laughing a little.

“Hold on. Hold on. I’ve been good. I’ve been good this year. We all had a conversation as a team and since then I’ve been good. I’ve been good,” Brunson said.

Someone from production passed on a message to which Lou joked:

“You ranked No. 2 in the NBA complaints by Luka [Doncic]. You can have that on your name.”

    Brunson replied:

    “No, no, that’s a lie.”
