Indiana Pacers vs Orlando Magic Preview and Prediction

The Indiana Pacers are going through their toughest stretch of the season, currently stuck in a brutal 16-game losing streak. Due to this slump, they’ve fallen all the way to 15th in the Eastern Conference and now hold the league’s worst record at 15-56.

The Orlando Magic started the month on a strong note, putting together an impressive seven-game winning streak from Mar. 3 to Mar. 14. Since then, though, they’ve cooled off and dropped four straight games.

The Magic have already beaten the Pacers twice this season, but those wins were not exactly dominant. They came by an average margin of just five points, which is not particularly reassuring given Indiana’s struggles.

On Dec. 31, Orlando narrowly escaped with a 112-110 win behind Paolo Banchero’s 29-point, 10-rebound performance. The next meeting on Jan. 4 turned into a high-scoring battle. Indiana saw Pascal Siakam, Aaron Nesmith, and Andrew Nembhard combine for 79 points, but it still wasn’t enough. Orlando countered with Banchero, Anthony Black, and Desmond Bane putting up 86 points to secure a 135-127 victory.

Looking ahead, this matchup feels like it could be even more one-sided. The Pacers are clearly struggling on the road, with just a 5-31 record. Meanwhile, the Magic have been solid at home with a 21-13 record.

Prediction: Expect the Magic to win by 12 points.
