Hiring Rich Paul Could Be Making Things ‘Worse’ for Giannis Antetokounmpo as Klutch CEO’s ‘Shady’ Gamble Draws Analyst Scrutiny

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s trade situation grows more complicated with time, as reports highlighted that Klutch Sports Group’s owner, Rich Paul, might be interested in representing the Greek Freak. Paul is a high-profile NBA agent who manages superstars like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Tyrese Maxey, and others. However, NBA analyst Michelle Beadle believed that it might not look good for the Bucks forward.

Paul is known for his outspoken personality and influence on franchises due to his star value in the league. The Run It Back show crew discussed the possibility of Giannis hiring Paul and how that might impact his image in the league.

Former NBA player Chandler Parsons referred to Giannis’ earlier statement that he wanted to remain in Milwaukee. He believed that hiring Paul might allow him to make a better decision about his future, as the agent would take the bullet for him and be the bad guy in his decision. He said:

“He can just take all the heat, take all the bullets, he can come in there and face the music and be like, ‘you know what, I am the one who got him out of there’ and make Giannis kinda look as good as he possibly can.”

On the other hand, NBA analyst Michelle Beadle was of a different opinion, as she felt that hiring Paul as his agent might not be the best decision. Referring to how things went for Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs, she said:

“I would like to say that this is actually going to be a lot worse… because it’s shady and it’s sneaky and it’s sort of semantics of ‘I am not asking for a trade.’ Well, your agent, no matter who he is, is an extension of you; they don’t do things on their own, they’re not gonna move you on their own. I actually feel that Giannis, in actually avoiding being the bad guy, is making this much worse for himself.”

While fans and analysts have divided opinions on the impact of Giannis Antetokounmpo hiring Rich Paul as his agent, the forward is suffering from a calf strain, which might sideline him for several games and even his 10th All-Star appearance.

Before that, as well, the two-time MVP’s altercation with the home crowd and other frustrations with the team have highlighted an uncomfortable environment in the Bucks locker room. This has even led analysts to criticize the franchise and demand a trade for him.

Stephen A. Smith berates the Bucks for not trading Giannis Antetokounmpo

Stephen A. Smith took up the cause of Giannis Antetokounmpo on his ESPN show First Take and shared his thoughts about the Bucks, who are placed in 11th place in the Eastern Conference. He highlighted Giannis’ field-goal percentage and even compared it to Stephen Curry.

    Smith said:

“The Milwaukee Bucks need to wake the hell up and trade him. You’re not going anywhere, and this is one of the top 5 players on planet earth.”

After the Bucks’ loss against the OKC Thunder, Giannis was visibly frustrated with the team’s game and highlighted players’ “selfish” plays. Given the conversation around him, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s trade looks inevitable.
