The Chicago Bulls have been one of the bottom feeders this season after the management decided to release Zach LaVine and build around Josh Giddey. The management also decided to send Coby White to the Charlotte Hornets in this season’s mid-season trade period. However, the team seemed optimistic and shared Giddey’s recent achievement, but it did not sit well with a former Bull.
The team’s social media account shared that Giddey has now crossed Michael Jordan in the list of most triple-doubles by a Bulls player. Former Bulls guard Ron Harper wasn’t impressed by the stat and shared his critical thoughts on the team. First, he wrote:
“Stop posted dumb stuff please!!!!!!”
After a user replied to his comment, stating that the team was “trying to sell us a trash a** team,” Harper further wrote:
“We can see this {sh*t emoji} they’re trash….”
Ron Harper was part of the squad when Michael Jordan was at the peak of his career with the Bulls. MJ gave his entire NBA tenure to the Bulls and brought home six championships and two three-peats.
Naturally, comparing MJ to Giddey did not sit well with Air Jordan’s former teammate. Harper also has two sons in the NBA, Ron Harper Jr. (Boston Celtics) and Dylan Harper (San Antonio Spurs).
Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis emerge as new Chicago Bulls core
The Chicago Bulls are placed 12th in the Eastern Conference and are looking to rebuild their squad for the next season. Giddey has proven his worth as an offense facilitator and on-ball scorer even in clutch situations. Nobody can forget the 11-second turnaround the Bulls pulled off last season against the Lakers, when Josh Giddey drilled the half-court game-winner.
Matas Buzelis, who was drafted 11th overall in 2024, has also come up as a trustworthy forward who can shoot and space the floor with his ability to score in the paint. He is scoring 15.9 points every game this season, grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game, and can play defense on even big scorers.
While Giddey has found his place after getting released by the OKC Thunder, he has a lot to do before he has the right to feature in the same sentence as the legendary Michael Jordan. However, he has all the makings of a leader and an efficient operator who can take his side to new heights.
