Dwight Howard’s ex-wife, Royce Reed, addressed the drama surrounding the former NBA player and Amy Luciani.
Luciani shared a five-minute-long video on Instagram on Saturday, alleging that Howard is addicted to cocaine, saying that he coached their 12-year-old stepson to lie. Recording while breaking down in tears, she claimed that Child Protection Services had visited their home three times in the past two months and also cited police intervention.
On Sunday, Howard’s ex-wife, Reed, got involved and addressed Amy Luciani directly on social media.
“Who’s laughing? This is sad AF!” Reed wrote. “These kids should’ve never been in his custody and she knew that! Look at the past! She allowed it, she condoned it, she participated in it… Crying now because she caught him lying to her is selfish af! If it was about the kids, she should’ve opened her damn mouth a long time ago instead of leaving them for weeks to fend for themselves while you went on trips overseas!”
Reed continued her rant on her Instagram story, pushing back against the criticism she faced for speaking against Luciani, who has been described as the victim in this situation.
“Y’all can kiss my a** with that ‘you shouldn’t gloat,’ ‘why are you laughing at someone’s downfall.’ Bulls***! No one is laughing,” she wrote.
Reed also shared a video on her story, calling Luciani “crazy.”
“Girl, shut up. You called me crazy. You said I was jealous,” Reed said in the video.
Royce Reed previously accused Dwight Howard of verbal, physical and mental abuse
Reed shared a three-part video series on Instagram in late December 2024, accusing Dwight Howard of abusing her mentally, physically and verbally. In the videos, Reed also accused the former NBA star of ruining her career, saying that he was responsible for her losing jobs in the past.
These clips were shared around the same time that Howard and Amy Luciani went public with their relationship. When asked about Reed’s comments, Howard said:
“This is my HOF year. I’m getting married. God is amazing. And I’m so grateful and I wish Royce nothing but the best peace and blessings.”
Howard has not publicly commented on the allegations made by either Royce Reed or Amy Luciani.
