D’Angelo Russell Drops 3-Word Cryptic Reaction Ahead of Potential Buyout Market Entry

D’Angelo Russell won’t report to his new destination, the Washington Wizards. He was part of the package, in which Anthony Davis was traded to the Wizards after a year with the Dallas Mavericks. And now, he has shared a cryptic comment on X after the team’s decision.

Russell is averaging a career-low 10.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4 assists. He is on a two-year, $11.5 million deal and has a player option for the 2026-27 season. However, the Wizards’ management stated:

“With D’Angelo, we’ve talked to him, talked to his representatives. At the time, he’s not going to report as we try to figure out what’s best for him and us in our future.”

Russell posted a cryptic comment on X, summing up his thoughts on his current situation:

    “Compacity to compute.”

Whatever the post means, his contract situation puts Russell in a difficult situation, as the team might decide to waive his deal or enter a buyout agreement. Earlier, the Wizards also decided to waive Dante Exum’s contract, another piece in the Anthony Davis trade. The 6-foot-5 guard is out due to knee surgery.

Russell’s on-court performance has been under scrutiny for a long time now. Fans and analysts have been divided in their opinions about him. With the Lakers, he had several opportunities to be a centerpiece of the offense but could not do much. If he enters free agency, it would be interesting to see how many teams will offer for the backup guard.

The Wizards have been the least talked-about team in the trade period, but have made some interesting moves, as fans wonder what Anthony Davis and Trae Young’s pairing can do in the capital.

The Wizards look to improve after the D’Angelo Russell decision

The Wizards have made some interesting moves this midseason trade period, acquiring Anthony Davis and Trae Young without giving much in return. While the All-Star players are currently out of rotation due to injuries, they can be frontrunners in any offense when healthy and running.

The former Laker and the former Hawk can complement each other and can create their own shots. Young is one of the most elite guards in the league and can unlock the full potential of youngsters like Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George, and others. While those arguments look good on paper, nobody knows how things will turn out in the capital.
