The Boston Celtics host the Atlanta Hawks on Friday due to major injury problems. Starters Jaylen Brown, Derrick White and Neemias Queta are all questionable to play. Brown is dealing with left calf tightness. It’s the first time he’s been on the injury report due to this ailment.
It also seems to be a non-contact injury, as the All-Star forward was active in the last game against the OKC Thunder on Wednesday. Brown scored 31 points with eight rebounds and eight assists on 9 of 17 shots to lead the Celtics to a 119-109 win.
Meanwhile, White is dealing with a right knee contusion. He’s also on the injury report with a new ailment. White was active in Wednesday’s game against OKC. He played 33 minutes, scoring 12 points with six assists.
Meanwhile, Queta has a right thumb sprain. He may have suffered the injury in Wednesday’s game against the Thunder. Queta is listed with the ailment for the first time. He too played significantly after getting 30 minutes in the win over OKC, during which he tallied 13 points on 5 of 7 shots.
The trio will be game-time decisions. The Celtics have only one confirmed absentee, Nikola Vucevic, who is out multiple weeks with a right finger fracture.
The Boston Celtics will hope Jaylen Brown, Derrick White and Neemias Queta are available for the matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, as it can be tricky if they go in shorthanded. Atlanta is 14-1 over its last 15 games and is fully healthy. The Celtics, meanwhile, are 5-1 over their past six outings.
