Carson Hocevar has spoken on social media with a short clip after a late-race crash with Joey Logano and Christopher Bell at EchoPark Speedway on Sunday. The 23-year-old ran near the front all day, but contact in overtime left crumbs on track and questions off it.
The Autotrader 400 went into overtime, and Tyler Reddick won in a two-lap sprint to the checkered flag after multiple late cautions. Hocevar finished fourth but his race is what many fans will replay. The Spire Motorsports driver tried to fill a gap on an overtime restart and made contact that sent Bell into the outside wall on the first attempt. Hocevar also had brief contact with Logano earlier in the run, which spun the Team Penske star and ruined his race.
After the race, Hocevar posted the popular ‘Was that wrong’ clip from the Season 3 and Episode 12 of Seinfeld on his Instagram story, which shows George Costanza questioning his own actions:
“Was that wrong? Should I have not done that? I tell ya, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon… , cause I’ve worked in a lot of offices and I tell you people do that all the time.”

Rain canceled qualifying for the second NASCAR Cup Series race of the season and, placed Reddick on the pole. Hocevar started from 15th-place and worked his way forward through the field throughout the 271 laps.
Carson Hocevar “Pleased” With His Run at EchoPark Speedway After a Series of Skirmishes
Carson Hocevar encountered issues early at EchoPark Speedway, including a tire problem and contact with the outside wall that sent him two laps down. But the 23-year-old battled into the top five by the end of Stage 2.
In the closing laps, Hocevar ran up front and was lined up on the outside of the front row for NASCAR overtime. He raced hard for his first Cup win after a runner-up finish at the Atlanta spring race last season but ended up making spinning Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney and pushing Christopher Bell to the wall.
Hocevar also defended his intent to race hard for a first Cup victory.
“I know Blaney was kind of mad at me because my stuff was really tight, so I do owe him an apology at some point because I think I ran us both in the wall. But I think I’m pretty pleased,” Carson Hocevar said.
Hocevar also ran double duty in Atlanta. He finished in second place behind Kyle Busch at the Truck race earlier in the weekend.
