Brad Keselowski Still Awaiting Medical Clearance Ahead of Daytona 500

Even after several delays, NASCAR Cup Series regular Brad Keselowski could not run Wednesday’s Clash at Bowman Gray, as he is recovering from a broken femur. If he wants to enter this year’s Daytona 500, which is less than two weeks away, he will have to wait for a final medical approval.

Currently, Keselowski doesn’t own a valid NASCAR driver’s license. So he must pass the approval test to compete at Daytona or anywhere else. Taking to X, the former NASCAR Cup Series champion announced that his test has been rescheduled for Monday.

“My final approval test has been moved to Monday due to weather,” Keselowski wrote.

It seems like Brad Keselowski is finally ready to get back in his RFK Racing Mustang. It’s been a rough few weeks since December 18, when he broke his right femur while getting out of a vehicle on a ski trip.

“I just fell perfectly on a spot that broke my leg,” Keselowski said in an earlier statement. “I wish it was some cooler story than that, like jumping or doing something on the slopes.”

Brad Keselowski is currently in his fifth year driving for RFK Racing, which he co-owns. He previously drove full-time for Team Penske’s No. 2 team. A native of Rochester, Michigan, Keselowski has 36 wins in the NASCAR Cup Series, including victories in crown-jewel events, such as the Coca-Cola 600, the Indianapolis 500, and the Southern 500.

Brad Keselowski Explains Why He Missed This Year’s Clash

Former Cup driver Corey LaJoie took Brad Keselowski’s place in the No. 6 RFK Racing car for the February 4 NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Keselowski, who was happy for LaJoie, explained in an interview with FOX why he did not rely on rehab to prepare for the Clash.

To enter this year’s Cook Out Clash, Brad Keselowski would have had to undergo extensive rehabilitation treatment, and even then, he would’ve been ready exactly on the day of the Clash.

“I didn’t want to rush back,” Keselowski explained (via USA Today). “The team and I made the decision together that if all the rehab went absolutely perfect, we’d be ready like, literally, the day of the Clash. And that seemed super foolish and didn’t give us any time to do any testing on myself or anything like that.”

Now the question is: Will Brad Keselowski get his medical clearance before February 15, which is the date of this year’s Daytona 500?

All eyes are now on the 68th running of the event, which is scheduled for February 15, 2026. Fans can watch the race live on FOX, starting at 2:30 pm ET, or listen to exclusive radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
