According to the CFN Strength of Schedule, the Minnesota 2024 football schedule is the 11th most difficult in the Big Ten. While some games will prove problematic, there should be enough winnable encounters for the Golden Gophers to return to a winning record.
That path to above .500 begins with a non-conference bout against a North Carolina Tar Heels team that lost their starting quarterback to the 2024 NFL Draft. While it will be a tricky matchup, it could have been more difficult if Drake Maye was still under center. Meanwhile, their remaining non-conference games against Rhode Island and Nevada shouldn’t be too taxing.
Although the Minnesota 2024 football schedule features five road games in the Big Ten, the Golden Gophers actually start the year with four consecutive home games. After the three non-conference games, they welcome the Iowa Hawkeyes to open their Big Ten slate. The USC Trojans, Maryland Terrapins, and Penn State Nittany Lions all must come to Huntington Bank.
