The Utah State Aggies have dominated their conference, as evidenced by the plethora of honors they earned recently. On Tuesday, March 10, the Mountain West Conference announced award winners, with the 2025-26 regular season coming to a close and the competition moving towards the postseason.
The Utah-based program won a few awards, showing how well they have played during conference play. Junior guard Mason Falslev was named this year’s Mountain West Conference Player of the Year after he averaged 15.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.9 steals in around 31.9 minutes played per contest.
Third-year forward Karson Templin won the Sixth Man of the Year award for the 2026 Mountain West Conference. In his third year at Utah State, the Fairview, Texas, native tallied a career-best 9.3 points, to go along with 4.2 rebounds in about 19.1 minutes off the bench per game. Similar to Falslev, Templin has spent all three of his years with the Aggies.
Rounding out Utah State’s postseason honors was their own head coach, Jerrod Calhoun, who was declared the Coach of the Year. Calhoun has spent the last two seasons coaching the Aggies, as he started his tenure there at the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign. Calhoun has spearheaded Utah State to the top of the conference standings in just a couple of years.
With the competition moving towards the conference tournament, coach Calhoun and his Utah State team concluded the season as the No. 1 overall seed in the Mountain West with an overall record of 25-6 (15-5 Mountain West). In their final regular-season game of the current campaign, they beat the New Mexico Lobos by four points, 94-90, on Saturday, March 7, at home.
