Tyran Stokes has delayed his commitment announcement, and all eyes are on him. Oregon, Kentucky, and Kansas were the last three suitors for the 5-star rated phenom. However, he had reportedly dismissed both Oregon and Kansas. Everything pointed to the fact that he is set to be a Wildcat next season.
However, Stokes’ recent social media activity has sparked rumors of Kansas once again being a part of his final shortlist. The post included his previous announcement of Oregon, Kentucky, and Kansas being his final three. However, his dislike for Adidas might play a role in eliminating Kansas.
Despite a difficult transfer portal after a rather disappointing season, Bill Self has welcomed Christian Reeves in his team. While there is a lot of doubt around Stokes’ commitment, Reeves joining the Jayhawks is certainly a big positive.
“BREAKING: Charleston big Christian Reeves has committed to Kansas, per @paulbiancardi. The 7’2 junior averaged 11.1 PPG, 7.8 RPG, and 1.4 BPG, while shooting 65.4% from the field,” the post was captioned.
Only time will tell if Stokes will choose Kansas, but Self is adamant about improving from last season. And for that he is looking to strengthen the team even more.
Kansas has had a tough transfer portal. Eight players departed from the Jayhawks. While sensational Darryn Peterson declared for the draft, the rest entered the transfer portal. Flory Bidunga committed to Louisville, Bryson Tiller to Missouri. Elmarko Jackson joined Georgetown, Jamari McDowell joined Wake Forest, and Semis Calderon joined Butler. Jayden Dawson also entered the transfer portal while seeking a medical waiver.
Fans demand Tyran Stokes to join Kansas after latest addition from the transfer portal
Fans online were adamant in the comments section that they want Tyran Stokes to join Kansas. They pinpointed how Stokes would benefit from the move.
“Great pickup for Bill Self and the Jayhawks,” one said.
“Between he and Paul that’s a solid pick and roll game @_thetyranstokes,” one fan commented.
“Last player Kansas got from Providence Day School, was pretty awesome!!!” one remembered.
“Now we just need @_thetyranstokes the last missing piece,” another claimed.
“Between Paul, Dawes, and him splitting 80 minutes at the post… Stokes would be even more of an overwhelming matchup at the 3,” another stated.
“Maybe I don’t know ball but how are you 7’2” shooting 65% but only 11ppg? Should be getting fed every other trip down and averaging at least 18+ or am I crazy?” one fan wondered.
