Michigan’s Aday Mara Takes NBA Draft Combine By Storm With “Absolutely Absurd Measurements”: Insider

Michigan Wolverines center Aday Mara’s stock in the 2026 NBA Draft is rapidly rising purely on the basis of his physical measurements. Mara measured 7’3″ and 260 pounds, with a 7’6″ wingspan and 9’9″ standing reach, according to NBA draft expert Jonathan Givony.

Givony added that Mara has tied Phoenix Suns big man Mark Williams for the second-longest standing reach in Combine history, just falling short of the top spot held by former Boston Celtics center Tacko Fall.

    “Absolutely absurd measurements,” tweeted Givony.

Mara spent one season at Michigan and helped the Wolverines win the national championship. He averaged 12.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.6 blocks per game. The Spaniard was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team.

The draft combine is taking place from May 10 to 17 in Chicago, Illinois, at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis, where aspirants can showcase what they have to offer and whether they are already prepared to play in the league, with team scouts looking on.

ESPN projects Aday Mara to land with the Charlotte Hornets with the 14th pick

In ESPN’s 2026 NBA mock draft, Aday Mara is listed as the 14th overall pick to the Charlotte Hornets. If Mara does end up joining the Hornets, he will boost a team that recently made the Play-In Tournament.

However, Yahoo Sports’ Kevin O’Connor thinks he could go to the Atlanta Hawks with the No. 8 pick. Meanwhile, The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie believed the Golden State Warriors (No. 11 pick) are the best fit for Mara.

The draft lottery was held on Sunday, May 10, and the Washington Wizards secured the first overall pick.
