Lauren Betts didn’t start her college career at UCLA, as she attended Stanford from 2022 to 2023. Then she transferred to UCLA and played for the Bruins from 2023 to 2026. She became a program legend over her three-year stint.
In April 2026, Lauren appeared in the WNBA Draft and was selected fourth overall by the Washington Mystics. Her time with UCLA might be over, but Lauren still represents the Bruins and holds the program very close to her heart.
So, when her brother, Dylan Betts, who is a budding basketball star, received an offer from USC, Lauren had something to say about it. Dylan took to X to share the news that he has received an offer.
“Blessed to receive an offer from @USC_Hoops,” he wrote.
Lauren can’t sit back and watch her brother join the Bruins’ crosstown rival.
“No. Absolutely not,” she responded.
Less than an hour after Dylan announced the offer he had received, Lauren rushed to shut it down. Dylan is a five-star recruit and has received offers from other programs, including UCLA.
As far as suiting up for USC is concerned, we know where Lauren stands on the subject. She is one of the best players to ever suit up for the Bruins, and she has created a strong legacy during her three-year run.
Lauren started 27 of 29 games for the Bruins in her first season with the team, averaging 14.9 points and 9.3 rebounds on 64% shooting from the field. The following season, Lauren’s individual numbers peaked.
She averaged 20.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.9 blocks while shooting 64.8% from the field. In her final year with the Bruins, Lauren led the team to a National Championship win against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
She scored 14 points with 11 rebounds and two assists in the final as the Bruins registered a blowout 79-51 win. Lauren won the NCAA tournament MOP.
Lauren Betts Has Shown Flashes Of Brilliance In The WNBA
Lauren Betts joined the WNBA with the hype of the national title win and her incredible run. In her fourth WNBA game, Betts breached the double-digit mark in scoring with an 11-point game against Dallas.
She recently recorded a career-high 18 points against Toronto, and that has been the highlight so far. Betts is averaging over 15 minutes per game for 6.7 points and 3.1 rebounds while shooting nearly 57% from the field.
Compared to other rookies, like Olivia Miles, who is averaging 18.1 points, 5.9 assists and 5 rebounds per game, Betts’ numbers don’t look as impressive. But she’s only 12 games into her career and is playing limited minutes on a weaker team.
