In high school, newly minted national champion center Lauren Betts was a five-star recruit and No. 1 in her class, while little sister Sienna Betts, a power forward, was also a five-star recruit who was the No. 2 prospect in her class. While both of them are celebrating their national championship win with UCLA, their younger brother, Dylan Betts, is making waves as part of Florida basketball powerhouse IMG Academy.
The Betts sisters are known for their height, but Dylan is way taller than both of them already, standing at 7’3 and is currently a five-star prospect, ranked No. 10 overall and the No. 4 center from the Class of 2028, according to 247Sports. He is also sought-after, as he now has offers from Purdue, Washington and UNLV. Strangely enough, he has yet to receive an offer from his sisters’ school, UCLA.
He is still currently a high school sophomore, which means he has plenty of time to decide which team to go to, as well as be able to get the attention of more scouts.
Dylan Betts Says He Learns A Lot From His Sisters Sienna and Lauren Betts By Watching Them
As for whether or not he learned a thing or two from his two elder sisters, the IMG Academy big man admitted that he does. He said so as he was talking about playing during the USA Basketball training camp.
“You definitely learn a lot as you watch them,” he said. “They’re very talented and they obviously know a lot. Watching both of them, you just learn what it takes to be a USA Basketball player and the communication you need, everything. All the confidence, and [they] just give off details on how to be a good USA Basketball player. It’s a good role model.”
As a seven-footer, he is developing into a potent rim protector who could block shots and rebound the ball. He also has a soft touch, being able to drain shots from range as well as drive the ball and take it to the rim. Unlike many seven-footers, he can actually jump as well.
