Providence Friars coach Kim English is facing the heat amid the team’s struggles this season. On Tuesday, @cbbcontent on Instagram uploaded a carousel post all about English and his roster’s struggles, along with two videos of fans expressing their frustration with the coach.
The first clip shows an angry Friars crowd on the streets of Providence shouting, “F*ck Kim English”. The next video shows the crowd’s point of view as they continue to speak negatively of English. The Friars sit at the bottom of the standings.
“Providence fans were seen protesting their head coach Kim English in the streets 😳 “F*ck Kim English.. f*ck Kim English..” The Friars sit at 2-7 in the Big East and 9-11 overall. Wild behavior regardless though.. (via __C_A_R_L___/X),” @cbbcontent on Instagram captioned.
English is currently in his third year coaching the Friars, having arrived in 2023. The Providence-based program is 9-11 (2-7 Big East) this season and sits 10th in its conference.

Rob Dauster Speaks On The Backlash Kim English Is Facing
College basketball analyst and co-host of the “Field of 68: After Dark” podcast, Rob Dauster, recently defended Kim English. Dauster is trying to wrap his head around why English is getting the harsh treatment from fans.
Dauster also gave a few alternatives for the Providence Friars moving forward.
“I ask this knowing full well I may be getting duped by some AI slop. What has Kim English done to get this kind of treatment from Providence fans? Serious question. Ed Cooley, I get it. That’s different. Kim’s tried. It hasn’t worked. It happens, especially when your best player sandbags your second season. Do they think this is the kind of thing that is going to make whatever pipe dream Providence has for a replacement want to go there?” Dauster said.
