Charlotte vs. South Florida Basketball Prediction, Starting Lineup And Injury Report Ft. David Gomez

The AAC Tournament has reached its semifinals, and the No. 1 South Florida Bulls are taking on the No. 5 Charlotte 49ers as both teams aim for that guaranteed slot in the NCAA National Championship Tournament. The Bulls will be making their tournament debut after getting a three-game bye, while Charlotte is fresh off tournament wins against Tulane and UAB.

The last time these two teams met, South Florida won by a huge margin, 83-60. With the 49ers now on a roll and the Bulls fresh from that three-game bye, it will be interesting to see how this plays out as teams jockey for that NCAA Tournament spot.

Both teams are likely going to start with the same players as the last time they met. However, the Bulls limited the 49ers to just having one player in double figures, and that is center Anton Bonke, who had a double-double performance despite the rest of his teammates doing badly, having 13 points, 11 rebounds and one block.

Meanwhile, South Florida will once again be led by Joseph Pinion, who dropped 22 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals against the Niners last time. Several Bulls players were in double figures, including Wes Enis, who had 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists, as well as Izaiyah Nelson, who had ten points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

    Charlotte 49ers

    • G Frank Oguche: Out

That three-game bye allowed the South Florida Bulls to rest and recuperate, and it shows as none among them will be out this game. Meanwhile, freshman forward David Gomez will be out once again due to an undisclosed injury. He had missed the game against UAB, along with Frank Oguche and Major Freeman, with both guards also dealing with undisclosed injuries.

Charlotte vs. South Florida Men’s Basketball Prediction

While Charlotte has been red-hot in the tournament, the No. 1 South Florida Bulls have proven to be consistent. Now that they are well-rested, they should be able to handle the 49ers once again, so this should result in a South Florida win.
