Florida Gators guard Boogie Fland has made a bold claim on his social media page that seemingly exposes coach John Calipari’s program, as Fland says he did not have a great experience there. On Saturday, Fland and the rest of coach Todd Golden’s 2025-26 Gators squad are pitted against coach Calipari’s Arkansas Razorbacks in the former’s home floor, the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida.
In a post by @therandomsec on Instagram, Fland’s recent quotes from his YouTube channel were flashed during an ESPN broadcast. According to the spitfire scorer, he claims that Calipari and his Arkansas-based program left him abandoned while he was dealing with his injury in the 2024-25 campaign. But, posts by the official Razorbacks social media pages contrast this, as it was said that Calipari and Co. constantly called up Fland to check up on him.
“Boogie Fland or ESPN just LIED straight to our faces 😭😭 The quote states that Arkansas didn’t check on Boogie when he was hurt but the receipts say otherwise. Arkansas would FaceTime boogie after every game and Coach Calipari openly stated how he missed Boogie. BS. Love college sports & the SEC? “It taught me one minute they love you, the next minute they hate you. As soon as I got hurt, nobody checked in, nobody texted me like, ‘You good? How’s your hand?’ It just goes to show the love wasn’t real,” Fland was quoted as saying.

For now, Fland’s focus remains on his new team in the Gators program as he is looking to help the squad win back-to-back national championships this season. Last year, coach Golden and the Florida-based program won the 2025 national title after defeating coach Kelvin Sampson’s Houston Cougars in the winner-take-all game by just two points, 65-63. In the same light, that is presumably Calipari’s goal with his Razorbacks as well.
The Florida Gators Dominated The Arkansas Razorbacks In Front Of Their Home Crowd
It seems as though Boogie Fland’s got coach John Calipari and his former team’s number this time around as he helped his Florida Gators teammates to uncork a dominating 34-point victory, 111-77, over the Arkansas Razorbacks on their home court.
The Gators now hold an overall record of 23-6 (14-2 SEC) and are sitting as the top team in the 2026 SEC standings.
