Jon Scheyer’s Duke scored a major recruiting win as the team secured the signing of Kon Knueppel’s younger brother, Kager Knueppel. A 6-foot-10 wing from the 2027 cycle, the younger Knueppel is the 28th-best prospect from his class, per 247Sports.
Knueppel was also highly rated by Matt Painter’s Purdue, who were in the race for his commitment alongside Wisconsin and DePaul. However, Duke’s rising interest in the Wisconsin Lutheran standout made it virtually impossible for other teams to get a crack at landing Knueppel.
As news of Knueppel’s commitment spread across social media, fans took to the comments to make their feelings known on Duke’s newest commit.

How Has Duke’s Recruiting Fared So Far?
Since falling to UConn in the Elite Eight of this year’s March Madness, Jon Scheyer has been hard at work on securing the next batch of Blue Devils commits.
For the upcoming season, Duke has received Letters of Intent from three standout prospects, including Cameron Williams (5-star), Maxime Meyer (4-star), and Bryson Howard (4-star). The team is also working on the recruitment of two more five-star prospects, including Derron Rippey Jr. and Joaquin Boumtje Boumtje.
As far as the transfer portal is concerned, Jon Scheyer has replaced the gap left by No.3 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft, Cameron Boozer, with Wisconsin star John Blackwell, and Belmont standout Drew Scharnowski.
After Knueppel’s commitment, Scheyer and the team will now focus on 5-star guards Beckham Black and Adan Diggs.
